OpenSuSe 11.0 y Cherokee.

Mi experiencia instalando el servidor de páginas web "Cherokee" con OpenSuSe 11.0.

Primero, hace varias semanas al visitar la página de Cherokee, ví que había un paquete binario listo para instalarse de Cherokee para OpenSuSe 10.2 (http://www.cherokee-project.com/downloads.html) y que pueden obtener aquí.

La isntalación se realizó sin problemas, pero la versión de Cherokee y la versión de OpenSuSe no me convencieron, por lo que decidí bajar el paquete fuente y compilarlo.

El detalle es que no me leído sobre las compilaciones de 32 bits sobre 64 bits, así que decidí instalar gcc de 32 bits, después que la compilación tuvo problemas en el "./configure" de 64 bits.

Modificamos la ruta para el archivo de configuración de Cherokee:

Noup, ese archivo para arrancar el servicio no es para OpenSuSe, a ejecutarlo directamente:

Ok, el servicio ya lo puedo tener, pero no arranca.

Hola Jose Mario,

Creo comprender lo de la "grasada".

En cuanto a lo que el entorno no era productivo, no lo era al 100%.

He cambiado a Ubuntu y veo que en parte es el hardware el que complica la situación, dado que he visto algunos problemas en el ambiente gráfico similares a los que tenía con OpenSuSe, así que por el momento, no le puedo adjudicar toda la responsabilidad a esa distribución.
